In the heart of Audierne Bay
The Bay of Audierne is distinguished by its contrasting coasts over 10km, which offer a landscape of fine sand and dunes.
From the Pointe de la Torche, to Penmarc’h, you will live a natural experience on the seaside combining nature and heritage.
The neighboring sites such as the Pointe du Raz, Locronan, Concarneau or Douarnenez will invite you during the day or in the evening to experience unique moments. A little further out to sea, discover the Glénans Islands, classified as a Unesco heritage site, and the Ile de Sein.
The beaches
The Lanvoran gite is located only 1.5 km from the sea and the beach of Kerrest, also called Menhir beach.
Nearby are also the Pointe de la Torche, very popular with surfers, and the fine sandy beach of Tronoën. The site of Tronoën is also a historical site worth visiting, with its chapel, its calvary and its miraculous fountain.
A little further south, you will discover the beach of Kermabec in Tréguennec. This immense beach offers a magnificent 180° view with the Crasseur de Galets in the background, a vestige of the construction of the Atlantic Wall.
About 30 minutes away by car, two other incredible beaches are waiting for you: the Plage du Steir in Penmach, at the extreme south of the Bay of Audierne and the Grande Plage d’Audierne.
The hiking trails
Lanvoran is an ideal site for walking and cycling and for hiking along the seashore, especially along the solar wind road.
The Bay of Audierne is a fragile natural space, shaped by the wind. The fauna and flora are protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Here are 3 hiking and walking trails that we particularly enjoy:
– The famous GR® 34,
– La Pointe du Raz,
– The point of Millet.
The museums
If you are a museum buff and want to learn more about local history, there are several options:
– The Breton Departmental Museum in Quimper,
– The Henriot-Quimper earthenware factory,
– The Bigouden museum in Pont l’Abbé,
– The fishing museum in Concarneau,
– The Admiral’s Museum in Pouldreuzic,
– The Port museum in Douarnenez,
– The Museum of the Marquisate in Pont-Croix.
